Rachel Egeberg is an abstract painter living in Northfield, Minnesota.
”For me, abstract painting is putting form to subtle energies surrounding us. I think about seeds sprouting, the wind blowing, creative impulse, ocean tides, human connections, plants living under the snow. My work is connected to the continual evolution of the seasons. The exuberance of high summer, the hunt for vibrancy on a grey day, the freshness of spring. As I paint, I am tapped into what is happening in the natural world, as well as my internal instincts. I want my paintings to capture something that feels lively and energizes the viewer.
There is always wrestling in the creation of a painting. Layering, peeling back, vigorous marks. A history is created. While immensely challenging, the process is joyful and playful and I hope the end result captures all of that.”
